Vixen (sold)
Fox in pastel/pastel pencil (25" x 21" framed).

I'm having a bit of a love affair with our own British wildlife at the moment. Despite going to Africa and seeing all of those amazing animals, my early morning walks in the local woods throughout the spring and summer kindled a very real passion for our own stunningly beautiful wildlife.
These early morning forays rewarded me with multiple precious encounters with deer, buzzards, rabbits, squirrels and on a couple of very special moments, foxes. Foxes are so exquisitely beautiful, and although an increasingly common sight in urban areas the thrill of seeing their much shyer country cousins is truly wonderful!
There can be no doubt that in urban areas foxes are thriving, however if they are to continue to be awarded the respect that naturally wild creatures deserve, the temptation by some to treat them almost as pets desperately needs to be dissuaded. Only this way will we prevent these magnificent and truly beautiful animals from being misunderstood and potentially persecuted undeservedly.
For me, being able to share some very special, private moments with these shy, beautiful, secretive and often elusive creatures was one of the major delights of the summer.
