Watercolour was the first colour medium that I learnt how to use. Many hours were spent with brushes that only had about a dozen hairs in, meticulously painting fur!

Although the level of detail you can obtain with this method is amazing, these days I tend to prefer the bolder more vibrant colours and textures of pastels.
